Fraud Prevention & Order Verification
Last updated: 15 May 2026
1. Our commitment
POPSTRAP takes payment fraud, identity theft and unauthorised purchasing seriously. To protect our customers and our business, every order is subject to automated and manual risk review.
2. Risk signals we evaluate
For every order, we may evaluate (in part or in whole):
- card and billing data consistency (BIN country, AVS, CVV match);
- device, browser and IP signals;
- shipping address risk and historical chargeback patterns;
- order velocity, quantity and timing;
- geolocation distance between IP, billing and shipping;
- email reputation, age and disposable-domain flags;
- third-party fraud-score signals provided by our payment partners (Shopify Payments / Stripe / PayPal).
3. What we may do
If an order is flagged as suspicious, we reserve the right, at our reasonable discretion and in accordance with our Terms of Sale, to:
- contact you by email to request additional verification (e.g., identity document showing the cardholder's name, recent utility bill matching the billing address);
- hold shipment pending verification;
- cancel the order and refund the original payment method in full, without compensation;
- refuse future orders from accounts, addresses, devices or payment methods associated with confirmed fraud;
- file a report with law enforcement, with Shopify, with our payment processors, and with relevant authorities (DGCCRF, Pharos).
4. Drop integrity and anti-scalping
Drops are limited and numbered. We enforce a maximum of 10 units per order, and reserve the right to cancel orders exceeding it, orders made by automated means (bots, scripts), or orders that we reasonably believe are intended for unauthorised commercial resale. Cancelled orders are refunded in full, no further claim accepted.
5. Chargebacks
If you do not recognise a charge from POPSTRAP, please contact us first at contact@popstrap.shop. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may delay resolution and may, where the charge is legitimate, result in collection action and account-level restrictions for future orders. Where the chargeback is not justified, we will defend the charge with our payment provider and may transfer the matter to a collection agency or initiate legal proceedings.
6. Personal data
Fraud-prevention data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting our business and our customers (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), and is retained no longer than necessary for that purpose, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
7. Reporting fraud
If you believe your card or identity has been used fraudulently on popstrap.shop, contact us immediately at contact@popstrap.shop and your card issuer. We cooperate with law enforcement in all confirmed fraud cases.
